“From the local Liechtenstein law firm to the International Financial Service Povider”

The law firm Marxer & Partner has been formed in 1925 by one of the first lawyers in Liechtenstein: Dr. Ludwig Marxer. From the small layers office in the beginning a large law firm emerged, the history and development of which is inextricably mingled with the recent history of the Principality of Liechtenstein.

The Founder Ludwig Marxer was a member of the Liechtenstein government and his court cases caused international sensation. The son of Ludwig Marxer, Peter, todays senior partner of the law firm, has been party leader of the governing party, member of parliament and speaker of his party. Other partners of the law firm have also pursued careers in politics, in the administration and justice. Hence, the history of the law firm is at the same time a portion of the history of Liechtenstein.
